Programmes

Sacred Canvas Art Therapy

Through painting, sculpture, and narrative storytelling, parents and children are given a safe and creative outlet to process their experiences. Guided by trauma specialists, these sessions help to reduce symptoms of PTSD, rebuild confidence, and strengthen the emotional bond between parent and child. The art created often becomes a powerful testimony of resilience, hope, and healing.

Guardian Voices

We believe that those who have lived through the SGO process must have a seat at the table where decisions are made. Guardian Voices trains and pays SGO parents to act as advocates, using their lived experience to influence family courts, social services, and national policy. By equipping parents to speak out, we not only amplify their voices but also drive systemic reform that protects future families.

Roots to Stability

Many SGO parents face the threat of homelessness and financial insecurity. Roots to Stability is a 12-week programme designed to break that cycle. Combining practical housing support, vocational training in creative and income-generating skills, and one-to-one mental health counselling, it gives parents the tools to build lasting stability. The goal is not just crisis prevention but the creation of sustainable futures for families.

Orisha Journeys

Isolation is one of the most painful consequences of the SGO process. Orisha Journeys brings parents and families together for cultural trips, museum visits, and nature outings, helping them to reclaim their sense of identity and belonging. These shared experiences nurture family bonds, create community cohesion, and remind parents that they are not alone in their journey of healing.

About Us…

Every year, over 15,000 SGOs are issued in the UK. Many face isolation, cultural insensitivity, and trauma despite acquittal.

At Orisha Foundation, we refuse to let parents be silenced.
